    Hi,
I am Wilma, I grew up in the Goldenrod/Winter Park area. My husband and I have lived here most of our years together. I am writing our stories as our childhoods were very different. We want to leave our children and mutual families a record of not only how our lives became one but all that preceded before our almost 60 together. He is a retired fireman of 37 years and I from 50 years plus of various church ministries. My goal for this class is to be able to capture the story of our lives in a manner that will best communicate the precious unseen hand that orchestrated it all.

I am so happy to finally be logged in. This is my second class with Patricia and I am ready for the journey. I had one book published almost three years ago and after reading it I realized how much I need to learn. I have now finished a second book and hope to implement all that I gain from this class before I even think about having it published. I love to write and haven’t limited myself to any one particular type of writing, so this will be interesting to see where it takes me. My husband passed away 2-1/2 years ago and I still work and look forward to many more years of going wherever God takes me. He’s taken me on some precarious paths but I’m ready. Thank you so much Catheryne for all your help. Couldn’t have done it without you.

Hello, my name is Monya Winzer Gilbert and I live in DeLand, Florida. Originally from the UK, I came to the US about three years after my parents emigrated in 1969. They came here to teach at Stetson University. My father taught the flute and conducted the orchestra and my mother, who was an actress, was appointed to the Theater Department. In October 1971 I traveled down from New York by train. I had finished my contract on the QE2 after three years at sea as a cabaret artist. My parents met me at Deland station and they were slightly stunned, but amused, to find that I had twenty two pieces of luggage, including two violins, an large amplifier and a Green Amazon parrot in a large cage! My father had brought his car to meet me but he had to hire two taxi cabs to carry everything home. This was the beginning of my life in America. What fun it has been!

My book will be for my UK relatives who know very little about my parents and myself. I think that they may be interested one day.
